Where Do Men REALLY Belong?

So... do you really find it odd to see a man in your LQS?

I really don't!  At Shiisa Quilts, we have a fair number of pretty avid quilters in our area who just happen to be men...
We also have a few women who have enlisted their hubbies as cutting helpers...  how cool is THAT??

And then there's the guys who come in and truly get involved in the fabric selection -- admittedly, some of them are there, I think, because they want to keep an eye on the MasterCard balance... but lots of them encourage their wives (or girlfriends) to buy that special fabric they love without worrying about how much it costs...

When we have a hubby shopper who uses that blasphemous phrase, "Don't you have enough fabric already??", we quickly offer him a cup of coffee and encourage him to have a seat and take a chill pill...  or... we send him to the car with a stern warning!!  LOL

If you're a female quilter, do you ever take your hubby or boyfriend shopping for fabric?  (HINT: It's never a good idea to take them both at the same time, but you probably knew that already, right?)

If you're a male quilter, do you feel welcome at your LQS?  Or do you feel like that stranger in St Itchez....  maybe that's why he had the hood pulled up over his head?

Go Men 0 It's a craft the same as woodworking or tying flies for fishing.

Quilting men 0 Quilting is a mathematical problem as well as artistic. I have had quilts I could never have put together without my engineering husbands help.

Men quilting 0 I see no reason why men can't quilt just like the ladies. Men have been sewing for years in the garment industry and nothing was wrong with that-- without the tailor's making the suits men wouldn't be well dressed!

Men in a quilt shop 0 Sometimes my husband is very willing to help me pick out fabrics... other times, not so much. He has a really good eye, though. My friends in our quilt club are jealous! lol

Artistic Eye 0 My husband is a retired architect. I went to an all day class and just couldn't get the design quite right. I took pictures of other classmates quilts along with mine. He took one look at mine and said this is not at the "golden mean". He complains about the stacks of fabric around here, but he has a helpful eye.

Awed and supportive 0 My husband freely and tenaciously supports my creative journeys. I mentioned a quilt shop and he went, made friends with the owner and he hasn't looked back. (no he's not with her)they are in cahoots to make sure I have 'enough' fabric thread etc. Also, gang up on me to attend all nighters and ladies nights out. And I have ended up being the manager of the shop.He does this with everyone of my creative journeys. Even sent me to Italy!
He also allows me to gently push him creatively. Great combo!

clue 0 If there's a clue here, I sure don't see it. I've looked all through your web site. Can you please make things a little easier?
